History

The two courses at Foxtail Golf Club in the heart of Sonoma County have become so interwoven into the fabric of their community over the years that one is tempted to think of them as a continuous 36 holes. And though they?re joined at the hip in their community-mindedness and ready access just minutes from Highway 101 in Rohnert Park, they remain distinct golfing experiences. The North Course, host of the Sonoma County Amateur and many other tournaments, remains the longer and more challenging of the two layouts, with its rolling topography over 6,851 yards. Original architect Bob Baldock made fine use of the Mayacamas Mountains backdrop and the region?s native redwood trees, and his vision was enhanced in a multi-million dollar renovation by Gary Linn in 2003. The course is strewn with strategically placed bunkers, wetlands and water features that provide additional intrigue throughout. Plentiful amenities, highly affordable rates and a huge array of special programs make both Foxtail courses a boon for locals and visitors alike. Learn more
