History
SugarLoaf Course is officially the "executive" half of the two courses that form the centerpiece of the Oakmont community just outside Santa Rosa. But don't let the "executive" distinction lull you into complacency, because the 4,293-yard, par-63 layout of this course offers more than enough challenge for even the scratch golfer. Though it plays quicker than its West twin, Oakmont East is a precision course that puts enough oak trees, bunkers and water in your way to keep you plenty alert on every hole. The signature 14th hole plays only 171 yards from the back tees, but it crosses a rock-walled creek, is bunkered on two sides and surrounded by oaks. Making par will stand as a testament to your straight shooting. The sun is often shining in Oakmont when Santa Rosa is still locked down in fog just minutes away. Look up to the Mayacamas Mountains and the adjoining Annadel State Park and you'll see why the entire region long ago earned the moniker of the "Redwood Empire." Learn more
