History
At 5,850 yards from the back tees, Ukiah Municipal Golf Course plays a little shorter than most 18-hole courses in the region, but don't take that as a message to treat it lightly. The Paul Underwooddesigned course celebrates its 75th birthday in 2006, so plenty of mature trees dot the rolling hills to keep things interesting. Elevated greens add to the local color in all the best senses of the term. Making par at 70 will more likely require precision shooting than big hitting, though two par 5s, one at 441 yards on No. 4 and the other 520 yards on No. 17, will test you. As you're strolling over hill and dale, remember to look around. Ukiah means "deep valleys," and deep valleys are known to create big skies.
