History

The Ridge Golf Course in Auburn puts you far enough above the Central Valley's heat and below the cold of the Sierra to make four-season golfing a true pleasure—with a considerable assist from renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Just half-hour up the foothills from Sacramento, The Ridge embodies the Jones, Jr. signature of meticulously blending the golf course with its surroundings of hills, knolls, rock outcroppings and abundant trees. Forty-eight bunkers make for some tricky negotiations along the 6,734- yard, par 71 layout, but this is not a course that will have you fleeing to the clubhouse for relief. Driving range, learning center, putting greens, pro shop—it's all here. In addition, golfers who find themselves at The Ridge can take pride knowing they are playing a course that has been tested by the best female players in the world, as The Longs Drug Challenge made The Ridge its home in both 2004 and 2005. The club's 'Events Center' provides robust opportunities for post-round celebrations, weddings, banquets, corporate meetings and more. With no homes surrounding the course and views abound, The Ridge is an intricate part of the NorCal golf scene. Learn more
