History
The Presidio Golf Course is nestled within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area just south of the Golden Gate Bridge. The course winds through century-old eucalyptus and Monterey pine trees on what was formerly one of the nation's renowned military bases. As the 2nd oldest course west of the Mississippi, The Presidio offers a challenging par-72 layout that is accented by sea breezes, salt air, and the legendary San Francisco hills. Menacing greens, narrow fairways and gorgeous vistas make this 6,404-yard course among the most memorable you'll ever play. Only minutes from downtown, The Presidio welcomes guests with a luxurious clubhouse, restaurant, banquet accommodations, and the finest practice facility in the city. Now in its 113th year, The Presidio formerly limited play to military personnel and selected guests such as presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower. Come experience the magic they felt at what is now a premier public course in one of the world's great cities. Learn more
