History
Monterey Peninsula golf has been enhanced yet again with the complete renovation of Monterey Pines Golf Course. Playability and affordability pair up here in a seaside setting of unmatched beauty and value. The 5,554-yard, par-69 course reopened to wide acclaim in July, 2009 after a year-long hiatus. Architect Mark Messier's redesign is complemented by new irrigation, rebuilt tees and greens, new bunkers and much more. Built as a recreational outlet for military personnel, the course has long been open to civilians, who now make up the majority of play. This is a walkable, beautiful course that will challenge your skills but never ruin your day. A starter and course marshal ensure a smooth pace of play. Tournaments, banquets, lessons, a renovated grille & bar, new practice facilities--it's all here, and at $34 weekdays and just three dollars more on weekends, Monterey Pines figures to be a star golfing attraction in this star-filled region for many years to come.
