History
On the sunny side of the Monterey Peninsula, Carmel Valley Ranch is a 1700-acre estate of majestic oaks, verdant fairways and brilliant flowers set against the rugged hills, just six minutes east of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The course makes the most of this spectacular natural beauty, and at 6,234 yards from the blue tees, Pete Dye's 18-hole, par-70 layout is friendly to beginners while also challenging veteran golfers. The Carmel River flows alongside four holes, while lakes come into play on another five. Signature hole No. 13 is a 140-yard par-3 that plays all downhill toward the valley, and holes 11 and 12 also offer breathtaking Carmel Valley views.
