GOLF GUIDE COURSE BIO

Located in a tranquil and stunning valley not far from the urban sprawl of the San Francisco Bay, Green Valley Country Club is the everyman’s private golf club that somehow manages to retain an authentic 1950’s country club vibe. Set on 528 stunning acres, Green Valley’s 18-hole course provides members and guests with as unique a playing experience as you’ll find in the California Wine County. Tree-lined holes that meander in and out of the valley’s foothills force golfers to play uphill, downhill, and side to side as they navigate the course’s small and always firm fairways and greens. Green Valley Country Club is architect Elmer G. Border’s only golf course design on record, and he knocked it out of the park on his lone attempt, designing a course that plays incredibly fair for those just being introduced to the game while dotting trouble in the form of well-placed trees and bunkers around all 18 holes that requires accomplished players to stay vigilant should they want to post a low number. If for some wild reason members need a reprieve from golf, the club has remarkably fine tennis, swimming, bocce and fitness facilities to compliment its delicious dining options and breathtaking scenery. Great golf, relaxing vibes and an incredible pre-civil war mansion that doubles as its clubhouse make Green Valley Country Club a wine country golf staple.
